This page is dedicated to Victorian toilets which originally were referred to as water closets (Toilet). Below you will see many examples of Victorian water closets and their evolution from the out house to the hopper then the washout bowl, the washdown bowl to the syphon jet bowl which hasn't changed much in function since then. Our inventory is always changing so if there is something you're looking for, please send us an email request. We prefer to sell complete toilets with tank and seat but can sell individual parts as well. We offer a very unique selection of the rarest and special antique fixtures and offer them as is or can restore.

Here is a photo of early water closets in the 1880's. Many were made in England for American companies. These early examples were fired pottery called earthenware or vitreous pottery. Some of the first companies to produce the first indoor Victorian plumbing fixtures were John Douglas, Thomas Crapper, JL Mott Iron Works, Peck Brothers, Standard Manufacturing, L Wolff Manufacturing, Standard Manufacturing and Meyer Sniffen.

This one is one of my favorite styles. This one is called a frontal washout out water closet known as an elephant trunk toilet. One you'll never forget and these ones came in the clean smooth look and were available embossed and some even came with colored ornamentation. Very popular and were the few styles that remained in mainstream production into the 1920's. We have these available. See below. If you don't see what you're looking for here, send me a request. I either have or can get it for you.
